Cooking Class: Make Traditional Tamales From Scratch
Chef Karen explores the tamale-making traditions loved by families for generations in this exciting in-person cooking class. Discover the many uses of masa in fillings ranging from savory and spicy to smooth and sweet!
Start your lesson with a batch of homemade tortilla chips and guacamole made from scratch. Then, prepare your masa and vegetables to use in fragrant and smoky roasted chicken tamales featuring a kick from Aleppo peppers. And tamales can be a dessert dish too, as you'll learn when you create sweet tamales with creamy chocolate filling.

We had a wonderful time in Chef Karen’s pizza making class. The instructions were clear, informative, and we all learned some great cooking tips. The pizza’s turned out delicious! I would highly recommend taking a class with Chef Karen for a fun and yummy experience.

With over 20 years of kitchen experience, Chef Karen has done it all, from earning culinary degrees in pastry and restaurant management to working with Michelin-star chefs. She began cooking Southern soul food at age seven and now owns and operates her own catering company. She's even prepared gourmet dishes for A-listers and celebrity clients!
